Chelsea will reportedly tell Manchester United to name their price for Wayne Rooney and will blow any bids from Paris Saint-Germain or Arsenal out of the water.

Chelsea will reportedly tell Manchester United to name their price for wantaway striker Wayne Rooney.

Manager Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed that Rooney had put in a transfer request last week and although United quickly rejected it, it seems that the England striker is headed for the Old Trafford exit.

According to The Mirror, Chelsea have not been put off by United's public insistence that Rooney will not leave and are ready to bid £30m as well as match the forward's £250,000-per-week wages.

David Moyes's first priority upon his arrival as United manager had been to speak with Rooney about his future, with the Scot hoping to persuade him to stay.

Chelsea are ready to offer him an escape route, though, as are Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal, but the Blues are determined to blow any competition for his Rooney's signature out of the water.
