Manchester United target Mats Hummels not ready to leave Borussia Dortmund

Mats Hummels describes Manchester United reported interest in his services as an "honour", but adds that he is staying at Borussia Dortmund.

Mats Hummels has confirmed that he will remain a Borussia Dortmund player for at least the next 12 months.

Reports earlier this summer had linked the centre-back with a move to Manchester United, who are believed to have set aside around £25m to sign the 26-year-old.

However, despite having conceded that he was honoured by the Premier League side's supposed interest, Hummels has insisted that he will stay with Dortmund.

"There have always been rumours about almost every one of our players, but I decided not to make the move this year," the Germany international told reporters during Dortmund's pre-season tour of the Far East.

"Of course when the big clubs are interested, and Manchester United is one of the biggest clubs in the world, it's an honour. But I decided I wanted to stay here."

Hummels is contracted to Dortmund until June 2017.
