Manchester City are reportedly keeping tabs on Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes, amid his ongoing contract situation at Old Trafford.
The 27-year-old has been a standout performer for the Red Devils since joining the club from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020, scoring 49 goals and registering 39 assists in 116 appearances across all competitions.
Fernandes is under contract at Old Trafford until June 2025, but United are believed to be open to offering the Portugal international a new deal.
According to Fichajes, negotiations between Fernandes and Man United over a new contract have stalled, with the playmaker only prepared to commit his future to the club if they qualify for the Champions League.
The report adds that United's crosstown rivals Man City are one of three clubs, along with La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid, who have 'taken note' of Fernandes' contract situation.
Any potential move for Fernandes to the Etihad Stadium, however, is deemed highly unlikely, considering the rivalry between the two clubs.
United currently sit fifth in the Premier League table, one point behind Arsenal in fourth who have played three games fewer.
