Manchester United are reportedly considering a shock swoop for former Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko, after Atletico Madrid rejected their first offer for Joao Felix.

Manchester United are reportedly considering a surprise swoop for Inter Milan's Edin Dzeko.

Erik ten Hag is looking for attacking reinforcements after Cristiano Ronaldo's volatile exit in November, with Atletico Madrid's Joao Felix heavily linked to the Red Devils.

However, their first bid for the Portuguese forward was rejected and Italian outlet Calciomercato reports that the club are set to make a shock bid for the former Manchester City attacker.

The 36-year-old is entering the final six months of his current contract, and talks over an extension are yet to begin, meaning that he could leave San Siro this month.

The report claims that Real Madrid will provide competition for the veteran's signature, with Los Blancos seeking cover for the injured Karim Benzema.

The Bosnian has featured 17 times in Serie A so far this season, scoring seven goals.
