Manchester United are allegedly prepared to pay £115m to sign Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga during the summer transfer window.

Manchester United are reportedly considering whether to make a big-money bid for Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga.

Since the arrival of Erik ten Hag last year, United have been rejuvenated on all fronts, already winning the EFL Cup to end their wait for silverware.

Although the Red Devils succumbed 7-0 to rivals Liverpool last weekend, they are in line to earn a return to the Champions League, while they still have ambitions to lift the FA Cup and Europa League.

Nevertheless, the club plan to strengthen in the summer transfer window, particularly in central midfield where there is perceived to be a lack of depth.

Casemiro, Fred and Christian Eriksen are deemed to be players who have a long-term future at Old Trafford, but there is less certainty over Scott McTominay and Marcel Sabitzer.

McTominay is expected to be sold later in 2023, with Sabitzer's loan spell from Bayern Munich not featuring an option for United to buy.

Instead, a report from Fichajes suggests that United are prepared to make an approach for Camavinga ahead of 2023-24.

The Premier League giants are allegedly prepared to pay €130m (£115.7m) to tempt Los Blancos into selling one of their young stars.

However, Real Madrid are said to have no interest in cashing in on the 20-year-old who they deem to be a long-term alternative to the likes of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.

Since joining from Rennes in August 2021, Camavinga has made marginally more appearances from the substitutes' bench than he has from the starting lineup, with 40 of his 79 outings coming as a replacement.

A similar ratio has been maintained during 2022-23, although Carlo Ancelotti has sometimes called upon Camavinga to deputise at left-back.

That versatility, and Camavinga having a contract until 2027, is likely to lead to any interest in his signature being rebuffed by Real officials.

While Jude Bellingham is being linked with a move to the Bernabeu, Real are said to have plans for the Englishman and Camavinga to play alongside each other in the future.
