Manchester United are reportedly set to hold further discussions with Sporting Lisbon over a potential move for Bruno Fernandes during this month's transfer window.
The Red Devils were strongly linked with the Portugal international ahead of the 2019-20 campaign but were unable to come to an agreement over a transfer fee.
Rumours of a move for the 25-year-old have resurfaced, though, and it is understood that officials from both clubs have recently held talks to discuss a potential deal.
According to the Daily Mail, the 20-time English champions will now hold further discussions in the hope of signing the attacker for a figure in the region of £50m plus add-ons.
The report claims that Fernandes's camp are confident that a move will go through before the end of the month, although United are still monitoring alternatives due to Sporting's tough negotiation style.
Fernandes made it 15 club goals for the season with a brace in his team's 3-1 victory over Vitoria Setubal in the Primeira Liga on Saturday night.
United, meanwhile, returned to winning ways in the Premier League earlier in the day courtesy of a 4-0 success over basement side Norwich City at Old Trafford.
