A report suggests that Victor Wanyama and James Rodriguez are January transfer targets for Manchester United.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has reportedly made James Rodriguez and Victor Wanyama his two main transfer targets during the upcoming January transfer window.

Wanyama is said to have impressed Ferguson during Celtic's recent Champions League encounter with Barcelona at Parkhead - a match at which the United boss was present.

While Celtic are thought to be keen to keep hold of the Kenyan midfielder, a bid in the region of £8m may be enough to secure the 21-year-old's services.

Meanwhile, Ferguson is also keen to bolster his wide options with FC Porto's Rodriguez, according to the Manchester Evening News.

The report has also claimed that Ferguson would be willing to use Portuguese winger Nani as a makeweight in any deal that would bring Colombian Rodriguez to Old Trafford.
