Manchester United will reportedly offer Patrice Evra to Everton as part of a deal to bring Leighton Baines to Old Trafford.

Manchester United could offer Patrice Evra as part of a deal to bring Leighton Baines to Old Trafford, according to reports.

The Everton defender has been linked with a move to United for over a year, though no concrete bid has materialised.

The England international is seen as the ideal replacement for Evra, whose performances have been questioned in recent months.

Now, it is thought that Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to make a January move that will see Evra go the other way to Goodison Park.

According to The Sunday Express, United will table a fee of £8 million plus the France international, rising to £11 million should Evra not be included in the deal.

United have already signed competition for the left-back role, having signed Alex Buttner in the summer from Vitesse Arnhem.
