Raphael Varane's imminent move to Manchester United is reportedly being held up by visa issues.
After identifying the World Cup-winning Frenchman as the ideal long-term partner for Harry Maguire, United announced last month that they had agreed a deal with Real Madrid for Varane.
The centre-back recently posted a farewell message to Real Madrid as he gears up for a switch to Old Trafford, but Red Devils fans may be forced to wait a little bit longer to see the new signing in action.
According to The Telegraph, visa problems are preventing Varane from travelling to Manchester, and the former Lens man will also have to undergo mandatory quarantine upon arrival.
The report adds that it will take at least another seven days for Varane's arrival to be confirmed after he completes his United medical, leaving the defender little time to settle in before the Red Devils open their Premier League campaign against Leeds United on August 14.
Varane leaves Real Madrid after scoring 17 goals in 360 appearances for the Bernabeu giants, winning three La Liga titles and four Champions League crowns during a 10-year stay in Spain.
