Gonzalo Higuain 'agrees' five-year contract with Manchester United

Gonzalo Higuain edges closer to a transfer to Manchester United, according to reports.

Manchester United have reportedly reached an agreement with striker Gonzalo Higuain over a transfer this summer.

The Argentine forward is expected to leave Napoli this year, and he has been heavily linked with United and Premier League champions Chelsea.

However, Italian publication Calcio Mercato Web reports that Higuain has agreed a five-year deal with United worth just shy of £100,000 per week.

A fee is yet to be agreed between the two clubs after Napoli rejected a £27m opening offer. The report says that they want closer to £35m, and the two parties remain in talks.

Higuain joined Napoli for around £40m in 2013.
