Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers denies that star midfielder Youri Tielemans has rejected a new contract with the Foxes.

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has insisted that midfielder Youri Tielemans has not rejected a new contract at the King Power Stadium.

The Belgian has less than two years remaining on his current deal with the Foxes and is yet to agree an extension, with rumours swirling around his departure as a result.

Liverpool and Manchester United have both reportedly targeted the midfielder, while Barcelona and Real Madrid are also said to be interested in securing his signature.

Foxes manager Rodgers has denied that Tielemans has turned down a new deal though, saying: "There's reports, but there's [been] no turning down. I think there's just dialogue between the club and Youri's people. I think the club are waiting to hear back. But that's something that's out of my control. What I can control is his mentality, his commitment to the team, and you cannot question that,' as quoted by the Daily Mail.

The Belgian joined Leicester on loan in the 2018-19 campaign before making the permanent move in the following summer, and he has now featured 121 times for the Midlands outfit, netting 19 goals and contributing 22 assists.
