Mickey Thomas comments that Wesley Sneijder would be a good addition for Manchester United.

Mickey Thomas has claimed that Manchester United “need” to sign Wesley Sneijder this summer.

The former Red Devils winger believes the Inter Milan star would “strengthen” United’s midfield since the departure of Paul Scholes.

“He’s a very good player and would add quality to the midfield, and that’s the one department United need to strengthen,” Thomas told talkSPORT. “They’re strong everywhere else.

“It’s a lot of money and a lot of wages, but I think United need him. They’ve lost Paul Scholes, who was a fantastic player, and you have to have that quality.”

The Dutchman, who has been linked with the Premier League champions this summer, would reportedly earn £200,000 a week if he were to move to Old Trafford.

Thomas added: “Sneijder can pass the ball, has good technique and can strike a ball well from free kicks. He could be a danger.”

The 27-year-old has not ruled out a move away from the San Siro.
