Ajax chief executive Edwin van der Sar confirms that Manchester United are interested in signing Donny van de Beek.

Ajax chief executive Edwin van der Sar has confirmed that Manchester United are interested in signing Donny van de Beek during this summer's transfer window.

Real Madrid have been strongly linked with a move for the 23-year-old, but a recent report from the Netherlands claimed that United are also in the picture for the central midfielder.

Van der Sar, who represented the Red Devils between 2005 and 2011, has revealed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are currently "showing interest" in the Ajax playmaker.

"It's clear that clubs like Real Madrid and United are showing interest in Donny van de Beek," Van der Sar told NOS.

Van de Beek played a key role in Ajax winning a league and cup double last season, in addition to starring in their run to the semi-finals of the Champions League.

The Netherlands international has also been in impressive form during the 2019-20 campaign, scoring 10 times and registering 11 assists in 37 appearances in all competitions.
