Mark Venus has reiterated that he wants to become Middlesbrough manager on a full-time basis.
The 46-year-old has been in temporary charge of the Championship club for the last three games after the sacking of Tony Mowbray and guided the club to a win, a loss and a draw.
Venus hopes that the situation will be resolved over the current two-week international break.
He told BBC Tees: "Hopefully these two weeks allow the club to make some plans and if that means them offering me the position then yes I do want it."
Despite Venus's yearns for the job, the latest rumours suggest that Boro chairman Steve Gibson is ready to give Spanish coach Aitor Karanka the job.
