Preview: Middlesbrough vs. Peterborough United

Sports Mole looks ahead to Tuesday's Championship match between Middlesbrough and Peterborough United.

Promotion may be beyond Middlesbrough, but this Championship encounter still has plenty riding on it for visiting Peterborough United.

Heading into the their trip to the North East on Tuesday evening, Darren Ferguson's team have managed to haul themselves out of the relegation zone on goal difference with seven matches remaining.

Their performances away from home also bode well for the clash at the Riverside. Posh have managed to collect 23 points on the road this season and three more would go a long way to helping them secure their status as a Championship club for another season.

However, they have not managed to defeat Boro in their last six attempts, although three of those matches have ended in draws.

Tony Mowbray's Boro can boast a positive record at home, though. Only six teams from 19 have left the Riverside with all three points as a reward for their efforts.
