Millwall manager Steve Lomas is hopeful that the club's supporters will judge him on how he performs next season rather than previous allegiances.
The appointment of Lomas was met by opposition from some Lions fans due to his previous involvement with West Ham United, but the former Hammers skipper has called on the supporters to back him in the new campaign.
"I have never said anything bad about Millwall. There is a history of managers playing for rival teams and taking on other teams," he told BBC Sport.
"You just want to be judged on what you do. You have got to get performances and results to get the fans behind you."
Millwall narrowly avoided relegation from the Championship last season.
