Daryl Janmaat elated with Newcastle United display

Newcastle United defender Daryl Janmaat reveals that he was elated with his side's display as they ended Chelsea's unbeaten record this season with a 2-1 victory.

Newcastle United defender Daryl Janmaat has revealed that he was delighted with his side's all-round performance in their victory over Chelsea.

The Magpies ended Jose Mourinho's side's unbeaten start to the campaign with a 2-1 win at St James' Park as Papiss Cisse notched a brace to hand his side the three points.

Janmaat told the club's official website: "That was really nice. It was hard, especially with 10 men, but who cares - it was a top win and we have to enjoy it. Of course they are a big team with some great players, so it's normal that they have some chances.

"But we defended well and, of course, you need some luck at some moments, but I think it was a team performance - a good team performance. We did everything, everyone did well and it was great."

Alan Pardew's men are seventh in the Premier League following their win over the Blues.
