Team News: Juan Mata keeps Chelsea place

Juan Mata retains his place in the Chelsea starting lineup for today's clash away at Newcastle United.

Jose Mourinho has opted to stick with Juan Mata in his Chelsea starting lineup for this afternoon's trip to Newcastle United.

The Spaniard has spent a lot of the campaign on the bench, but his performance last time out against Arsenal in the Capital One Cup was enough for Mourinho to keep faith with him.

The Chelsea boss has made nine changes in total from the 2-0 win over their London rivals, with the likes of Fernando Torres, Frank Lampard and captain John Terry all reinstated.

Meanwhile, Alan Pardew has made a trio of alterations to his Newcastle side, as Davide Santon, Yohan Cabaye and Loic Remy all return.

Newcastle: Krul; Debuchy, Williamson, Yanga-Mbiwa, Santon; Sissoko, Tiote, Cabaye, Gouffran; Shola Ameobi, Remy

Chelsea: Cech; Ivanovic, Luiz, Terry, Cole; Ramires, Lampard; Mata, Oscar, Hazard; Torres
