Andros Townsend's father has indicated that the winger is prepared to spend next season in the Championship with Newcastle United.
The England international joined the Magpies from Tottenham Hotspur in a £12m deal during the winter, but despite scoring four goals, he was unable to help the Magpies retain their Premier League status.
It is believed that Townsend has an £8m relegation release clause in his contract on Tyneside, which has reportedly alerted West Ham United.
However, when asked by BBC Sport about his son's future, Troy Townsend replied: "Newcastle could rise quickly and Andros looks forward to many more seasons with them."
In total, the 24-year-old has made 13 appearances for Newcastle.
