An investigation by the Australian Crime Commission reveals that there is evidence of "widespread" doping in Australian sport.

A government report has revealed that sport in Australia is riddled with the use of banned substances.

The Australian Crime Commission have found evidence of "widespread" doping within various sports across the country - the Australian Football League and the Australian Rugby League being reported as the main culprits.

The inquiry has revealed that coaches, support staff and scientists have provided certain athletes with banned drugs, while some substances were issued by crime syndicates.

Federal sports minister Jason Clare said: "[The findings are] shocking and will disgust Australian sports fans. It's cheating but it's worse than that, it's cheating with the help of criminals."

Clare also revealed that one case of match-fixing is currently under investigation but he would not confirm which sport is involved.
