Nice, Nantes involved in stalemate

Nice and Nantes play out a goalless draw in Sunday afternoon's Ligue 1 clash at the Allianz Riviera.

Nice and Nantes have played out a goalless draw in this afternoon's Ligue 1 clash at the Allianz Riviera, which sees them remain eighth and ninth respectively in the league table.

The first chance of the game fell to the visitors, who saw Alejandro Bedoya's stinging effort from outside the box saved by Mouez Hassan.

Nice then enjoyed a bright spell around the quarter-hour mark, but Nantes countered through Vincent Bessat, who fired just wide following a Jordan Veretout through-ball.

Both sides were evenly matched in the first half, but neither could break the deadlock come the interval.

In the second half, Nice cranked up the pressure and came close through Valentin Eysseric, whose effort flew just wide of the right-hand post.

Ultimately, Nantes were able to hold their opponents at bay and claim a share of the points.
