Northampton Town tie Brendan Moloney to permanent deal

Brendan Moloney joins Northampton Town on a three-and-a-half-year deal from Yeovil Town.

Northampton Town have announced that they have signed defender Brendan Moloney on a three-and-a-half-year contract.

The 26-year-old Irishman has impressed since joining the club on loan from Yeovil Town last month, and has been rewarded with a permanent deal.

Manager Chris Wilder told the club's official website: "It was an easy decision to sign Brendon on a permanent contract.

"He has been really impressive since coming in and has played his part in the recent good run. Not only has he been a big asset over the last few weeks, he has an important part to play in the rest of this season and beyond that as well.

"He has an excellent attitude both on and off the field, he has settled in well to the group in the dressing room and we are really pleased Brendon has become a permanent addition."

Moloney had managed just five League One appearances for the Glovers this season.
