Norwich City: 'Chris Hughton at risk'

Norwich City chief executive David McNally warns Chris Hughton that his job is in danger unless he guides the Canaries away from the relegation zone.

Norwich City chief executive David McNally has warned manager Chris Hughton that his job is in danger unless he guides the Canaries away from the relegation zone.

The Norfolk-based outfit sit just one point above the drop zone in the Premier League table following Tuesday's 2-0 defeat to West Ham United, meaning that City have won just once in their previous 11 fixtures.

Bottom-placed Fulham sacked coach Rene Meulensteen on Friday evening, and McNally warns Hughton that he may suffer a similar fate because he is in the "results business".

He told BBC Norfolk: "We are too close for comfort. Chris has been told in no uncertain terms 'get us out of that position and keep us out', but equally, we're three points off 10th.

"As far as giving any certainty for Chris, or anyone else -- it's a results business. Whether that's Chris Hughton as manager or me as chief executive or anybody else, we're paid to do our jobs."

City's next match is the visit of Tottenham Hotspur to Carrow Road on February 22.
