Sierra Leone international Kei Kamara has joined Premier League side Norwich City on a six-month loan deal, subject to immigration clearance.
Manager Chris Hughton has made no secret of his wish to sign a striker this month, with the club having been linked with the likes of Gary Hooper from Celtic and Swansea City's Danny Graham.
However, their pursuit may have now ended following the capture of 28-year-old Kamara.
"I'm delighted to bring Kei to the football club, one of Major League Soccer's best players over the last few seasons," Hughton told the club's official website.
"There is no doubt it is a big jump to make into the Premier League, but it is an exciting challenge both for him and us here at the Club to prove his talent.
"Kei also adds some valuable competition up front alongside the current striking options we have here at the club."
Kamara must gain approval to play for the Canaries from the UK Border Agency.
