Federico Macheda completes Nottingham Forest loan switch

Cardiff City allow Italian striker Federico Macheda to spend the rest of the campaign on loan with fellow Championship side Nottingham Forest.

Nottingham Forest have secured the loan services of Cardiff City striker Federico Macheda until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old, who graduated through the Manchester United academy, has made just eight appearances for the Bluebirds this term.

As a result, the Italian has been granted permission to link up with the Tricky Trees for the nine games that remain.

International clearance was received in time for Macheda to make his Forest debut during last night's 1-1 draw with promotion hopefuls Hull City.

The centre-forward is contracted to Cardiff until the summer of 2017.
