Paulo Bento describes Portugal's friendly defeat to Turkey as "unfair".

Paulo Bento has described Portugal's 3-1 friendly defeat to Turkey as "an unfair result".

Portugal, who were two goals down when Nani found the back of the net, were unable to tie things up as Cristiano Ronaldo missed from the spot, allowing the visitors to escape with a late Pepe own goal and win.

"I think it's an unfair result, but we must continue to believe in what we're doing," said Bento.

"We had some chances but could not take them. We made some mistakes. It is clear that when we let in three goals we can not forget about the errors after the match.

"We must not lose hope. The support was fantastic, but it is the result that matters most."

Bento's Portugal kick off their Euro 2012 campaign against Germany on June 9.
