Joey Barton tweets that he will "gladly go to jail" after the office of the Attorney General announced they were investigating other posts from the QPR midfielder.

Joey Barton has said that he will "gladly go to jail" after the office of the Attorney General announced they were investigating tweets from the Englishman regarding the John Terry racism saga.

The Queens Park Rangers midfielder posted on the micro-blogging website again this morning saying he will happily be a martyr.

"I will gladly go to jail for a month, in the name of free speech. I have no problem with what I said. Make me a martyr," the 29-year-old wrote.

"What are they going to do put everyone who exercises freedom of speech in jail? They'll be a revolution, if they try that s***."

Barton, who served two months of a six-month sentence for assault in 2008, could face prosecution for contempt of court.
