Mark Hughes planning summer overhaul at QPR

Queens Park Rangers manager Mark Hughes is planning to offload a number of players at the end of the season.

Queens Park Rangers manager Mark Hughes is planning an overhaul of his squad this summer.

The former Wales boss admitted that a host of players are on course to leave Loftus Road at the end of the season, whether or not the team are relegated.

Hughes is expected to have resources at his disposal for rebuilding as QPR owner Tony Fernandes has pledged his future to the club.

"Every club will look at their current staff and what they need to build and get stronger," Hughes told the Fulham Chronicle.

"And that won't change no matter what club I'm at. We're looking to make it stronger and that means a number of players will go as a result."

Radek Cerny, Fitz Hall, and Kieron Dyer, who are out of contract this summer, are among those tipped to leave. Fringe players Matt Connolly, Brian Murphy, Angelo Balanta, Troy Hewitt, and Rob Hulse are also expected to be offloaded.

QPR go into Sunday's game at Manchester City needing at least a point to guarantee their top-flight survival, unless Bolton Wanderers fail to defeat Stoke City.
