Djibril Cisse hopes that he can apologise for his two recent red cards by helping Queens Park Rangers stay in the Premier League.

Djibril Cisse is hoping that he can make amends for his recent red cards by helping Queens Park Rangers preserve their status as a Premier League club between now and the end of the season.

The French striker has been dismissed on two occasions since joining the R's from Lazio in January.

However, Cisse is keen to make a positive impact in the club's remaining four matches as a way of paying back the faith that has been shown in him.

"I feel bad that I have let people down for being sent off twice," he said. "The first time I was angry because I was tackled badly. I have been hurt before in my career through tackles like that.

"We have got a really tough run-in to the end of the season, but I would actually prefer this. There are big, massive games. We want to win so much.

"I will be back for Tottenham and we then go to Manchester City, which will be hard, but you can't rule us out of winning that one."

Cisse has scored three goals in five appearances for Rangers.
