Rangers manager Mark Warburton eyes "two or three" new signings

Rangers manager Mark Warburton reveals that he wants to bring in "two or three" new players to the club this summer.

Rangers manager Mark Warburton has revealed that he is looking to sign "two or three" players this summer.

Former Bradford City winger Andy Halliday is close to joining the Scottish Championship club on a free transfer.

However, Warburton is keen to boost his squad further before the start of the season.

"We are looking at people," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "It's not about numbers. People get confused about adding numbers to a playing squad - you add quality.

"We are still relatively light. We are hoping to make two or three moves in the days and weeks ahead. We are working on a number of targets. At this time of year, there are a number of clubs looking at the same players."

Reports earlier this week claimed that Rangers failed with a bid for Wigan Athletic defender James Tavernier.
