With Cristiano Ronaldo recently marking the beginning of 2025 by scoring in a 24th consecutive year as a professional footballer and proving that he is still capable of performing at a very high level, it is staggering to think that it is already a decade and more since the Portuguese icon was at the very peak of his powers.
Indeed, it was 10 years ago today that Ronaldo was awarded his third Ballon d'Or, joining an elite group of Michel Platini, Johan Cruyff and Marco van Basten as three-time winners - only a certain Argentine has more.
The then-Real Madrid superstar was awarded the 2014 Ballon d'Or on this day in 2015 for his incredible exploits throughout the calendar year, which proved to be perhaps the very best of his legendary career.
Ronaldo scored 61 goals in 60 games for club and country, leading Madrid to the mythical 'La Decima' Champions League crown and going on to lift the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup too.
Those achievements saw him end up as a clear winner for the Ballon d'Or, but who else was nominated for the accolade of the world's best player that year?
To mark the 10-year anniversary, Sports Mole is challenging you to name every player who was up for the prize. We've given you one - how many more can you get?
