Marcelo calls for focus

Real Madrid defender Marcelo calls on his side to continue "working, fighting hard and winning" amid their record-breaking 18-match winning run.

Real Madrid defender Marcelo has called on his side to focus amid their record-breaking winning win.

Los Blancos have won their last 18 games in all competitions, with that run of form seeing the club breeze into the knockout round of the Champions League and top La Liga after 14 matches.

"The record is very important but we want to carry on working, fighting hard and winning, and to do that we have to be focused and we can't afford to relax," Marcelo told the club's official website.

"We can't take anything for granted. The secret is hard work, fighting spirit, togetherness and everyone showing desire."

Real Madrid face Ludogorets Razgrad in the Champions League on Tuesday.
