Marcelo wants Carlo Ancelotti stay

Real Madrid defender Marcelo 'hopes' that Carlo Ancelotti remains in charge of the Spanish side next season.

Real Madrid defender Marcelo has revealed that he is desperate for Carlo Ancelotti to remain in charge of Los Blancos next season.

Real Madrid were knocked out in the Champions League semi-finals by Juventus last week, before seeing Barcelona claim the La Liga title at the weekend.

It is understood that Ancelotti will be sacked this summer after failing to win either trophy, but Marcelo is still hopeful that the Italian will stay.

"I hope Ancelotti stays, he's an incredible manager and he's supported us a lot. We didn't win a title but we now have to pick ourselves up and work hard for next season," Marcelo has been quoted as saying by Inside Spanish Football.

Ancelotti won a Champions League and Copa del Rey double during his first season in charge last term.
