Netherlands head coach Ronald Koeman will be forced into a defensive reshuffle for Sunday's UEFA Nations League quarter-final second leg against Spain, with Jorrel Hato out of the match through suspension.

Hato was sent off in the latter stages of Thursday's first leg for a rash challenge on La Roja defender Robin Le Normand, and the highly-rated youngster will be unavailable for selection this weekend.

Netherlands are also set to be without the services of Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber through illness.

Jeremie Frimpong excelled in a wide right area against Spain, but due to the lack of options, it is likely that the Bayer Leverkusen wing-back will drop back into the right-back role for Holland in this match.

Such a move would see Lutsharel Geertruida switch across to the left, with Virgil van Dijk and Jan Paul van Hecke set to continue in the middle of the defence despite the availability of Matthijs de Ligt.

Xavi Simons is the favourite to be introduced down the right, with the 21-year-old featuring off the bench in the 2-2 draw between the two sides in Rotterdam on Thursday night.

However, Memphis Depay is again set to lead the line, while Justin Kluivert and Cody Gakpo are also in line for spots in the final third of the field, with Brian Brobbey set to kept in reserve alongside Teun Koopmeiners.
