Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has admitted that his side missed a great chance to claim victory over local rivals Real Madrid in their clash on Saturday evening.
Despite putting in an impressive display, Atletico lost 2-1 with a Juanfran own goal and Angel di Maria strike cancelling out Radamel Falcao's opener.
Simeone described the defeat as a "chance lost", though he had no complaints about his side's overall performance.
"It is a chance lost by us but there is another one coming soon, there is another one next year, the following year. There will always be chances to get," the Argentine coach told reporters.
"I think right now people don't think it is possible, which is better. But we will have more chances in the years coming. It will come."
"I think we came into the game in a good pace. They scored the goal quickly after our goal. First 30 minutes the team played in Real Madrid's half, but this is the most important football to have. The team scoring more goals is the team winning the match."
The result leaves Atletico in third place in La Liga, six points behind Jose Mourinho's side.
