Zinedine Zidane hails "special" Cristiano Ronaldo

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane hails Cristiano Ronaldo after the Portuguese made a scoring return against Osasuna on Saturday afternoon.

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has paid tribute to Cristiano Ronaldo after the Portuguese made a scoring return in Saturday's 5-2 win over Osasuna in La Liga.

Ronaldo missed Real Madrid's first two league games with the knee problem that he suffered in the final of Euro 2016, but returned to the starting XI at the Bernabeu on Saturday afternoon.

It took just six minutes for Ronaldo to add his name to the scoresheet, and Zidane has said that the 31-year-old has "that special touch on the big occasion" ahead of next week's Champions League clash with Sporting Lisbon.

"I hope he scores a lot of goals. He's beating all the records one by one and I'm sure he'll get to 100 [Champions League] goals. He's got that special touch on the big occasions. He always creates danger and it's good he got his early goal," Zidane told reporters.

Ronaldo was replaced in the second half of the Osasuna match as Karim Benzema also made his return from a hip problem.
