Report: Real Madrid, Barcelona to battle for Marco Asensio

A report claims that Real Madrid and Barcelona will go head-to-head this summer for the signing of Mallorca teenager Marco Asensio.

Real Madrid and Barcelona will reportedly go head-to-head this summer for the signing of Mallorca teenager Marco Asensio.

The 18-year-old, who is widely regarded as one of the brightest talents in Spanish football, has made 18 appearances in the Segunda Division this season.

Manchester City have also been credited with an interest, but according to Inside Spanish football, Madrid and Barcelona are currently leading the race for the attacker.

The same report has claimed that Asensio has a release clause in the region of £3.3m.
