Rudi Garcia criticises Roma's slow start against Palermo

Roma boss Rudi Garcia laments his side's poor first-half showing against Palermo, claiming that 'they didn't play' in the opening 45 minutes.

Roma boss Rudi Garcia has criticised his side's slow start against Palermo after the hosts went a goal up within the first two minutes of the game.

The Giallorossi even struggled to register a single shot on target during the first 45 minutes, leaving Garcia upset with his side's showing.

"We didn't play in the first half," Garcia said, according to Goal.com.

"We were on our heels, there was no movement, which is dangerous against a team [like Palermo] who are in good form, and we presented them a gift after just two minutes.

"The whole team were poor in the first half. Fortunately, we rediscovered our form after the break."

Striker Mattia Destro, who is being linked with a move away from the club, managed to score his side's equaliser in the second half.

The result, however, was Roma's third draw in four league games, leaving leaders Juventus the chance to stretch their gap at the top to five points when they face Hellas Verona on Sunday.
