Ashley Cole told he can leave Roma?

Roma are understood to have told defender Ashley Cole that he is free to find a new club before the end of the transfer window.

Roma have reportedly told defender Ashley Cole that he is free to find a new club.

The former England international, 34, has one year remaining on his current deal at the Stadio Olimpico.

Cole played 11 times in Serie A last term and has struggled for action during pre-season.

Roma coach Rudi Garcia has now informed the full-back that he can move elsewhere, according to Sky Sports News.

Cole joined the Giallorossi last summer following a successful eight-year spell with Chelsea.
