Report: Ashley Cole eyeing MLS switch

Roma left-back Ashley Cole eyes a move to Major League Soccer, according to reports in Italy.

Ashley Cole is reportedly about to become the next Englishman to move to the MLS, with his future at Roma in doubt.

Cole joined Roma after leaving Chelsea on a free transfer last season, but has struggled to make an impact with the Giallorossi.

According to Il Tempo and Sport Mediaset, Cole could mutually agree to terminate his contract with the Serie A club, while Maicon may also follow the former England international out of the Stadio Olimpico.

It is thought that the lure of a move to the US, and a potential £2m-per-year salary, might convince Cole to leave Europe.

Cole had been linked with a move to Manchester City during the summer.
