Steven Fletcher expresses his eagerness to play for Scotland again following a resolution with manager Craig Levein.

Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher has admitted that he cannot wait to pull on a Scotland shirt again.

A falling-out with manager Craig Levein resulted in the 25-year-old frontman not being selected for the national team for 18 months.

However, following a series of discussions between the pair last week, Fletcher was named in the squad to take on Belgium and Wales over the coming days.

Having patched things up with the manager, Fletcher is now keen to get back to representing his country on a regular basis.

"I had a good chat with the manager when he came to visit at the training ground last week and, while it was important we discussed the past and put it to bed, it was more important that we focused on the future," he told reporters.

"I am desperate to play for Scotland again and, like Craig, I regret that it has taken this long to come about. I'm sure we have both done a lot of thinking during the last two years, but the country comes first."

Fletcher has earned eight caps for the senior side.
