Sheffield Wednesday have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Brentford centre-back Harlee Dean.
The 26-year-old is into the final year of his contract and saw his Bees captaincy taken away by manager Dean Smith earlier this week.
Smith revealed in an interview with Get West London that Dean is "in a bit of limbo with contract negotiations... with that going on it's right that someone else carries the armband."
According to Sky Sports News, Brentford would be willing to sell Dean for a fee of £2m plus add-ons, with the Owls in pole position to recruit the player.
Hull City and Leeds United have reportedly also shown an interest in Dean, who joined the Griffin Park outfit from Southampton in 2012.
