Andy Carroll is back for West Ham United for their away game against Southampton in the Premier League this afternoon.

Andy Carroll has returned to the West Ham United starting lineup for their Premier League game against Southampton away from home this afternoon.

The England international striker missed the Hammers' goalless draw with Liverpool at Anfield in their last outing because he was ineligible. Carlton Cole drops to the bench for Sam Allardyce's side.

Meanwhile, Southampton have been hit with illness this week, with left-back Luke Shaw ruled out of the game.

Danny Fox and Adam Lallana come into the team in place of Jay Rodriguez and Jason Puncheon, who start the game on the bench.

Southampton: Boruc; Clyne, Hooiveld, Yoshida, Fox; Cork, Schneiderlin; Lallana, S Davis, Ramirez; Lambert
Subs: K Davis, Fonte, Ward-Prowse, Guly, Puncheon, Mayuka, Rodriguez

West Ham United: Jaaskelainen; Demel, Tomkins, Collins, O'Brien; Diame, O'Neil; Jarvis, Nolan, Vaz Te; Carroll
Subs: Henderson, Potts, Pogatetz, Taylor, Collison, C Cole, Paulista
