Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino: 'No players for sale'

Mauricio Pochettino insists that no players will be sold by Southampton following the manager's decision to commit to the club.

Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino is adamant that his star players will not be sold by the club.

There were suggestions that there could be a large exodus of first-team players following the resignation of chairman Nicola Cortese last night.

The likes of Luke Shaw, Jay Rodriguez and Rickie Lambert have been linked to a number of Premier League outfits already this month.

However, Pochettino, who has confirmed that he is staying at St Mary's, insists that the players he wants to keep hold of will stay put.

"I want to make one thing clear – no-one is for sale at Southampton," Pochettino said in a press conference. "No-one. My viewpoint hasn't changed from a week ago. No player that I don't want to leave will leave."

The Saints are currently ninth in the league table.
