Alvaro Negredo: 'Spain are ready for Euro 2012'

Alvaro Negredo insists Spain will be in good shape in time for their Euro 2012 opener against Italy.

Alvaro Negredo has insisted that Spain will be ready to open up their Euro 2012 campaign against Italy next week.

The defending champions have been criticised for the performance that they put in against China yesterday evening.

Despite accepting that his side's display was below their normal standard, Sevilla striker Negredo believes that the squad will be in good shape for their tournament opener.

"The first half was pretty ugly to watch because [China] defended a lot," Negredo told reporters.

"They kept things tight at the back, and we misplaced a lot of passes. There's no need to worry, though.

"The match against China wasn't good, but things will be different against Italy. What happened here will benefit us and make us stronger."

Negredo has scored six goals at international level.
