Aaron Lennon claims that playing in the Europa League improves players ahead of Tottenham Hotspur's clash with Lazio.

Aaron Lennon has insisted that Tottenham Hotspur will be pushed to their limits in the Europa League this season.

Spurs host Lazio in the competition on Thursday evening and Lennon claims that facing teams like the Italian giants will improve him as a player.

The England winger said: "It's a big game against a massive club.

"It will be a hard game. The Europa League has improved as a competition over the last few years and playing in these big games improves you as a player."

Tottenham head coach Andre Villas-Boas recently revealed that the Europa League is a priority for him in his first season at White Hart Lane.
