How Tottenham Hotspur could line up against Wolverhampton Wanderers

Sports Mole looks at how in-form title hopefuls Tottenham Hotspur could line up against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Wembley on Saturday.

Tottenham Hotspur will ensure that they finish 2018 sitting second in the Premier League table if they beat Wolverhampton Wanderers at Wembley on Saturday.

A run of five league wins in a row - including scoring 11 goals in their last two either side of Christmas - has seen Spurs capitalise on Manchester City's own dip in form to leapfrog them in the standings.

Liverpool remain six points clear at the halfway stage of the season, but Spurs are very much in the title race and go into their final game of the calendar year as one of England's form teams.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Mauricio Pochettino could set his side out for the visit of Wolves.

Out: Eric Dier (appendix), Jan Vertonghen (thigh), Mousa Dembele (ankle), Victor Wanyama (knee), Vincent Janssen (foot)
Doubtful: Serge Aurier (groin), Dele Alli (hamstring)

One of the most impressive things about Tottenham's form so far this season is that they did not make a single summer signing, have been hit hard by injuries and yet still sit second in the Premier League table.

Indeed, Pochettino has the enviable problem of perhaps wanting to rotate his side to keep them fresh, but having a number of players in such good form that it is impossible to leave them out.

Son Heung-min certainly falls into that bracket at the moment and he is likely to start again having delayed his trip out to link up with South Korea at the Asia Cup, while Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane were also on the scoresheet against Bournemouth on Boxing Day.

Lucas Moura ensured that all of the front four scored that day, although if Pochettino does want to rest any of his attacking players then the Brazilian seems most likely, with Erik Lamela ready to come in.

Moussa Sissoko has been used a lot in recent weeks and may be handed a rest, which could open the door for young Oliver Skipp to start alongside Harry Winks in a midfield depleted by injuries.

Kyle Walker-Peters registered three first-half assists against Bournemouth but may be displaced by Kieran Trippier at right-back, while Davinson Sanchez and Ben Davies could also return in defence as part of any rotation.
