Aaron Lennon: 'Everton feels like home'

Aaron Lennon admits that he had been hoping all summer to rejoin Everton on a permanent basis.

Aaron Lennon has admitted that he had been hoping all summer that a permanent move to Everton would go through.

The winger completed the switch to Goodison Park from Tottenham Hotspur on the final day of the transfer window following a loan spell with the Toffees last season.

Lennon, who had spent 10 years with Spurs, says that he felt relieved to become an Everton player on a long-term basis.

"It's an unbelievable feeling, a lot of people know it's the move I wanted and from the first time I got here, it felt like home," the 28-year-old told Everton's official website.

"I was just hoping it got done throughout the summer, I was just waiting, waiting. Yesterday was a great moment for me to finally become a full time Everton player.

"The loan spell was great for me. I enjoyed the whole feel of everything and the reception from everyone to do with the club. I felt so welcomed and I was just hoping throughout the whole summer that this one got done - and thankfully it did."

Lennon scored two goals in 14 appearances for Everton last season.
