Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko insists that the club are "happy" with head coach Jose Mourinho.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko has insisted that the club are "happy" with Jose Mourinho.

The experienced manager has won 11 but lost nine of his 26 matches in charge of Spurs since replacing Mauricio Pochettino at the helm on November 20.

The team have struggled for consistency in 2020, but Sissoko has played down suggestions that there is unrest in the camp, while calling Mourinho the "future" of the club.

"We're happy with Mourinho. He brought a new freshness," Sissoko told Europe 1. "We aren't going to spit on what Pochettino did, he brought the club to a new level, but now our future is Jose Mourinho."

Tottenham, who lost 3-0 at RB Leipzig in the second leg of their last-16 Champions League clash last time out, are currently eighth in the Premier League table, seven points off the top four.

As it stands, though, there is no guarantee that the current season will be allowed to resume.
