Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp has revealed that Heurelho Gomes is a part of the club’s future plans at White Hart Lane.
The goalkeeper, who has been left out of Spurs’ squad to face PAOK in the Europa League, has become second in command following the arrival of Brad Friedel in the summer.
The 64-year-old boss has backtracked on reported claims that the goalkeeper was considering a transfer move in January.
"I think he does have a future with Tottenham,” Sky Sports News quotes Redknapp as saying.
"He's obviously upset he's been left out [against PAOK]. It's been difficult. I brought Brad in, there's competition for places and I just decided to go with Brad. It was my gut feeling."
The Premier League side take on Group A’s PAOK in Greece tonight (Thursday).
